Istanbul Airport is the international airport of Istanbul, Turkey. The airport, which is located between the Tayakadın and Akpınar villages, is established on 29 October 2018. After all the process is done, the airport will be able to host 200 million passengers with its 2 terminals while covering a total of 76,5 square kilometres. Even though it was originally decided to go by the name “Istanbul New Airport” while it was still in the building process, but later on it changed to “Istanbul Airport”. The tender for the airport was held in May 2013, with a total of 22,152 billion euros, which is the highest bid of the republic, by IGA, Cengiz Limak, Kolin Ortak Girişim (OGG). After the tender, the basis of the project was laid on 7 June 2014.
